1. Who we are
This website is run by Zaiqa London, a restaurant at 108a Whitechapel Rd, Shadwell, London E1 1JE. We are the “controller” of the personal information described below, which means we decide how it is used and we are responsible for looking after it under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
For any question about this policy or your information, contact us:
- Email: rizfoods786@outlook.com
- Phone: 020 7377 9292
- Post: Zaiqa London, 108a Whitechapel Rd, London E1 1JE
2. What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us, plus the basic technical information every website receives.
- General enquiry form (Visit page): your name, a phone number or email address, and your message.
- Event enquiry form (Events page): your name, a phone number or email address, the event date, the number of guests, and anything you tell us about the occasion.
- Emails and phone calls: your contact details and whatever you tell us, for example a booking request or dietary needs.
- Technical information: when you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically receives your IP address and browser details so it can deliver the pages and protect the site against abuse.
If you tell us about an allergy or dietary requirement, we use it only to prepare your food safely and to plan your booking or event.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this website, and we do not sell your information.
3. How we use it, and why we’re allowed to
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange tables, bookings or events. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement with you, and our legitimate interest in answering customers.
- To deliver a booking or event you’ve agreed with us, including catering for any allergies you tell us about. Our legal basis is performing our agreement with you. Where you share health information such as an allergy, we rely on your explicit consent, given when you tell us.
- To keep the website working and secure. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe website.
- To meet legal obligations, for example keeping financial records for events we have invoiced.
We will not send you marketing messages unless you have separately asked us to, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We don’t share your information with anyone for their own marketing. We use a small number of service providers to run the website, and they process information only on our instructions:
- Netlify, Inc. hosts this website and receives and stores submissions from our enquiry forms.
- Our email provider stores the emails you send us and the form notifications we receive.
- Google supplies the fonts used on this site, and the map on our Visit page if you choose to load it (see Cookies below).
We may also share information if the law requires us to, for example with the police or a regulator.
Ordering online: if you order through Deliveroo, Uber Eats or Just Eat, that company collects your order, address and payment details under its own privacy policy. It passes us only what we need to prepare your order. Our social media pages on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok are likewise covered by those platforms’ own policies.
5. Information stored outside the UK
Some of our service providers, including Netlify and Google, are based in the United States or store data there. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to a booking: up to 12 months after our last contact with you, then deleted.
- Event bookings: the details we need for our accounts are kept for 6 years, as HMRC requires. Other details, including allergy information, are deleted within 12 months of the event.
- Technical logs kept by our hosting provider are deleted automatically on its standard schedule, usually within 30 days.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict or stop using it, or object to how we use it;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
- ask for a copy in a format you can pass to someone else.
To use any of these rights, email rizfoods786@outlook.com. There’s no charge, and we will reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
8. Cookies
Cookies are small files that websites save on your device. This website does not set any cookies of its own, and we don’t use analytics or advertising cookies, so we don’t need to ask for your permission when you arrive.
Two features rely on Google:
- Google Maps (Visit page): the map only loads when you click “Show map”. Once it loads, Google may set cookies and collect information about your use of the map under Google’s privacy policy. If you’d rather it didn’t, leave the map closed and use our address or the “Open in Google Maps” link instead.
- Google Fonts: our typefaces are loaded from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address in order to send the font files. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
Links to Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Just Eat and our social media pages take you to those websites, which use their own cookies.
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser’s settings.
9. Keeping your information safe
This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to enquiries is limited to the people at Zaiqa London who need it to reply to you.
10. Children
This website is not aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. A parent or guardian should make any booking or enquiry for a child, including for our kids’ menu.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the way we use information changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
